Here at Bobalu Cigar Co., we like to recognize some of the all-time great cigar smokers and Babe Ruth is certainly among the greatest! In fact, Cigar Aficionado has Babe Ruth ranked at Number Ten in their list of The Top 100 Cigar Smokers of the Twentieth Century.
On the field, Ruth was one of the best hitters of his time. “Off the field, the Babe loved the good life: food, drink, women–and cigars. While still in Boston, he invested in a local cigar factory that produced nickel smokes with his picture plastered on the wrapper. “I smoked them until I was blue in the face,” he once lamented.”
Perhaps one of Babe’s most telling quote is this:
“I’ll promise to go easier on drinking and to get to bed earlier, but not for you, fifty thousand dollars, or two-hundred and fifty thousand dollars will I give up women. They’re too much fun.”
So here’s to The Babe! A man that lived a life many of us can only dream about!
