Bobalu Cigar Companies Celebrates 20 Year Anniversary

A lot has changed for Bobalu Cigar Company in the past 20 years. Yet, much remains exactly the same.
Perhaps the biggest reason this specialty manufacturer has earned the praises of the cigar smoking elite, is because of Bobalu’s commitment to honoring the traditions and the fine art of hand-rolling custom cigars. Combine that with Bobalu’s customer-centric business plan of cutting out the middle-man, offering factory direct pricing, and top-notch customer service and it’s little wonder that Bobalu has found such success.
Started by a team University of Texas graduates, Bobalu has been an Austin, Texas since 1997. A stroke of luck paired Bobalu with Austin’s famed Caritas, and their Cuban refugee program, to supply experienced Cuban cigar rollers.
Usually if you are not from Miami or Tampa you would not have a chance to see the time honored tradition of making premium cigars by hand. This is another quality that sets Bobalu Cigars apart from the rest. Customers can come in and watch the cigars being made right on premises, or even watch live via webcam from anywhere in the world!
Each year, Bobalu’s talented rollers also travel the country performing over 200 exhibitions at private parties, corporate events, and trade shows.
3 years ago, after growing out of the cramped 6th St. location, Bobalu opened its 2nd location a Factory store located at 8501 Burnet Road. The Burnet Road Factory has been a huge hit with those living on the north side and ships thousands of Bobalu Cigars to loving customers coast to coast and to military bases around the world.
With a huge internet presence Bobalu Cigars has become a major player in the cigar industry.
“We want to thank the great people in Austin for allowing us to thrive for 20 years, ” says Bobalu owner, Jeff Lipton.
“You just can’t find a legal Cuban hand-rolled, factory fresh cigar like ours anywhere else,” adds Lipton.
